The files in this archive represent the initial medium level grid (for Configuration 8) from the University of Wyoming for the first High Lift Prediction Workshop. The grid was generated in VGrid 4.1 using the Configuration 8 geometry following the HLPW meshing guidelines for node based solvers at: http://hiliftpw.larc.nasa.gov/Workshop1/GriddingGuidelinesHiLiftPW1-11JUN09.pdf The grid naming convention, 41A, reflects that this is the first family of grids using VGrid 4.1 and was chosen simply as a convenience. The final submitted grids may be re-named at some future point if required by the workshop committee. All grids are pure tetrahedral elements, with layers of thin tetrahedras in the boundary layer regions and some an-isotropic stretching in the span-wise direction. Grid is given in 2 different formats: UWYO-Grid41A-8.tgz medium grid (tarred, gzipped directory of files) in VGRID format HLPW_WB-41A-8.cgns.gz medium grid (gzipped) in CGNS format (see www.cgns.org) (file conversion from VGRID to CGNS format was done by C.
