Here is the procedure someone would use to create the Tet and the PrismTet files for a particular grid level in Pointwise: 1. File, Open, aiaa_hl_f11_fsurf_wbsf.v5_0_xxxx.pw Note: You must have Pointwise V17.1 R2 or later to be able to read the .pw files posted here. 2. CAE, Select Solver There are currently around 16 different CAE solvers that support the combination of anisotropic tetrahedra into prisms. They are: . ACUSIM/Acusolve . ANSYS CFX . ANSYS Fluent . CFD++ . COBALT . CRUNCH . FrontFlow . NSU3D . OpenFOAM . STAR-CCM+ . STAR-CD . STAR-CD v4 . SU2 . Tetrex . UGRID . WIND (unstructured) 3. The user should select one of the above solvers, then press OK. 4. Select the block from the Display or List Panel. 5. File, Export, CAE 6. Enter filename you wish to export. 7. Save . Choose Single or Double Precision (Double is recommended). . If you wish for the exported grid to be Tet only, make sure that the option "Combine anisotropic tetrahedral" is UNCHECKED and press OK. . If you wish for the exported grid to have anisotropic tetrahedra combined into prisms for a Prism-Tet mesh, make sure the option "Combine Anisotropic Tetrahedra" is CHECKED and press OK. The file will be exported with the base name you provided to whichever native input files the selected CAE solver uses. POC: Carolyn Woeber Pointwise, Inc. cdear@pointwise.com
